Karl Strauss 21st Anniversary Ale
Karl Strauss 21st Anniversary
Another solid winner from Karl Strauss. This one screamed grape! Not something you’d expect in a beer, but this wasn’t just any typical beer. Even the label gives a tantalizing hint: “Ale brewed with Zinfandel grape juice.”
Wine lovers and beer lovers alike will be quick to embrace this one. A nice full bodied malt taste that fills all the senses up quite nicely. It tastes aged, and the grapes have a tad of a sour zing that makes you going back for that second gulp. The smell is thick and present. It’s powerful, without being overpowering.
I’m happy to have had this, and will be on the lookout for it again. They did a great job and should give themselves a pat on the back. Can’t wait to see what next year’s anniversary brings!
