I am not a fan of coffee. I don’t hate it, it’s just nothing I care for. I don’t need to have a cup before I can start the day. This beer though might just change things.

So there are many beers out there that taste like coffee. The stout family as a whole almost always has a note of coffee. Our friends at Surly Brewing decided to go the extra mile. They actually added real coffee. Can you taste it? Yes. Does it actually taste good? You betcha. In a group tasting with coffee lovers and haters, everyone could agree that this one was a winner. A full tasting beer. Roasty, grainy, and malty. It made me re-think how I felt about coffee overall.

If you can find this one, buy it. The only problem you’ll have with it is deciding if you’ll want to drink it at a party, or drink it to wake yourself up in the morning.
